Self Improvement: How to get people to like you

I am deeply interested in these social topics. And so i'll share some tips that i have learned from numerous books as well as some i got from the internet.

1)Encourage people to talk about themselves
It gives their brain as much pleasure as food or money
Talking about ourselves—whether in a personal conversation or through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter—triggers the same sensation of pleasure in the brain as food or money, researchers reported Monday…
“Self-disclosure is extra rewarding,” said Harvard neuroscientist Diana Tamir, who conducted the experiments with Harvard colleague Jason Mitchell. Their findings were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. “People were even willing to forgo money in order to talk about themselves,” Ms. Tamir said.
2) To give feedback, ask questions
-  If you use questions to guide people toward the errors in their thinking process and allow them to come up with the solution themselves, they’re less likely to feel threatened and more likely to follow through.

3) Ask for advices.
-Stanford professor Jeffrey Pfeffer, persuasion expert Robert Cialdiniand many others have all recommended asking for advice as a powerful way to influence others and warm them to you.

4) The two question technique.
-Ask them about something positive in their life. Only after they reply should you ask them how they’re feeling about life in general.

5) Repeat the last three words.
- ''…simply repeat—or parrot—the last two or three words your companion said, in a sympathetic, questioning tone. That throws the conversational ball right back in your partner’s court.''

-It shows you’re listening, interested, and lets them get back to telling their story.

6) Make sure you looks smart
- Dress well, who likes a person who is messy and scrubbish? A person who dresses well attracts attention from the others, to me.

7)  Be cheerful in your heart
- learn to be open to the surroundings and to other people, people like others who are cheerful, because they're looking good.

8)  Learn to act
- Personally, i don't really agree with this statement. But it has a point. ''Be yourself'' might be good, might be bad as well. The good is, you're all yourself. You're free to feel anything. The bad is, if you're naturally a weak person, mostly consists of negative traits or maybe a loser, do you want to be yourself...? Fake it until you make it, might have its validity in social settings.

9) Smile more and smile to the others
- Smile has a meaning: i like you. Let others know that you like them by smiling to them. It's one of the greatest gifts that doesn't cost. And that is how friendships are form. Smile.

Treat the others the way you want to get treated.

Peace. :))

''I'm definitely a people person. I love socializing and being around people and having a good conversation.''

YE Mall Sales in Subang Parade- Great experience

I believe we should live most of our life when we're young. We should try out new things to gain new experience so that we'll become all- rounded individual eventually.

Some people don't bother attend co-curricular activities. They think: Get straight A's in exam get already la or i have no time, i have to study. And more excuses. And i used to be like that. But i've learned that to succeed in both academics and co-curriculum would shape you into a better and improved individual.

And that's why love Young Enterprise programme so much. I'm considered lucky to have Young Enterprise, or YE for short in my school. Not all schools could access to this great programme. Why is it great? It'll expose you to business making and marketing which is very good for the students' future, and would differentiate you and the others who don't attend YE.

I volunteered forYE mall sales yesterday, I was in the first shift. I got to set the booths and help out. I also got to promote our stalls, even if it's just a little.

So, these are great experiences! Because it exposes you to learn how to communicate with strangers, to build up your social skills and learn how to promote at the same time. And i have definitely learned a lot. Thank you, Young Enterprise. Or to be specific, Paragon Enterprise/ 2014 of SMK SEAFIELD!

School life: An audition, two opinions, two chances

Today, i went to seafield fm's audition. There was only a boy called KX and me. So, it's just the two of us there. How few people.to be honest. I didn't know that seafield fm's that so unpopular amongst the students.

Seafield fm just piqued my interest for no reason. When i heard that there was an audition,my heart was set : I want to join seafield fm. It seemed fun. And it really was.

When the interviewer, Dennis and Wan Ching asked me questions, i did my best to answer them. When they asked: What is special in you?

..........

My mind went blank. Then i asked myself, what's so special about me?
I know. I just know there must be something that made me special. Something that made me different from the others. My character. Everyone's different in some ways.

I'm a hardworking person. I'll work very hard to reach my goals. Everything has a price to pay, i believe. But not all.

And this was what i say to them.

After that, i had to pretend that i was on radio with my partner. The talk in BM was complete failure. The English one's pretty fine though. Seems fun, i hope i can really pass the interview, and learn to talk. The interviewer then commented on me that i ought to be more outspoken and be more entertaining sot that i could entertain the students.

I see.

Moving on...

Pn Indra, my Add Maths teacher wasn't such of a strict teacher. I thought wouldn't listen to my reason for passing up the h/w late. I was wrong. She did listen to mine's. And she gave me full homework marks. I'm truly grateful for having such a teacher.

She said that i was like a loner type of person. Ouch, it hurts....
It's not like i want to be like that, though... It's because the people in my class aren't that open and friendly as to compare to my form 3's class. Everyone has their respective group. So where do i trulyy belong....?

Lastly,

Nites.

Short diary: My English Oral- Video Filming with My Friends

To make this blog not so dead, i decided to write my diary here more often.

Sigh, looking back at the day, I realised that our english oral group was not cooperating well.
Let's see who I got...

Lysha.... She will be migrating to China.. So of course she would't be showing up at our friend, Fui Yee's house. I'm gonna miss her though...
Ang... He always change dates and have failed to show up during the video filming session. Man, you have to take responsibility in what you're doing in life....
Marcus... He's ok...
Clifton.. He's responsible and i personally felt that he should be the leader for this group... He felt that the way he acted during the filming was not good enough... You're being strict to yourself, that's what i thought.
Fui Yee... Quiet one.

At the end, i voiced out my opinion to contribute to the group more and i had no regrets. You have to express your opinion so that they could understand you more. And i'm happy because i'm able to halve their stress, at least, that's what i thought.

Moral of the story: Everything has its solution. Life is that simple. Do things step by step, and you'll reach your destination in no time!

The Beginning of August

How fast is the passage time. It is the first day of august of 2014 already. Sigh...
Sometimes, i can't help but wonder how much i've grown for the past few months.
The first day of August is coming to an end, but the night is still young as ever.

Starry starry night......

Happy International girlfriend's day, goodnight and ....

Peace. <3

Self enrichment article: Improving quality of your life

I've read an interesting article.
Source from:http://www.bakadesuyo.com/2012/05/what-10-things-should-you-do-every-day-to-imp/

10 things that scientific research shows can help improve your life.

1) Get out in nature

You probably seriously underestimate how important this is. (Actually, there’sresearch that says you do.) Being in nature reduces stress, makes you morecreative, improves your memory and may even make you a better person.

2) Exercise

We all know how important this is, but few people do it consistently. Other than health benefits too numerous to mention, exercise makes you smarterhappier, improves sleepincreases libido and makes you feel better about your body. A Harvard study that has tracked a group of men for more than 70 years identified it as one of the secrets to a good life.

3) Spend time with friends and family

Harvard happiness expert Daniel Gilbert identified this as one of the biggest sources of happiness in our lives. Relationships are worth more than you think (approximately an extra $131,232 a year.) Not feeling socially connected can make you stupider and kill you. Loneliness can lead to heart attack, stroke and diabetes. The longest lived people on the planet all place a strong emphasis on social engagement and good relationships are more important to a long life than even exerciseFriends are key to improving your lifeShare good news and enthusiatically respond when others share good news with you to improve your relationships. Want to instantly be happier? Do something kind for them.

4) Express gratitude

It can make you a better person.

5) Meditate

Meditation can increase happinessmeaning in life, social support and attention span while reducing anger, anxiety, depression and fatigue. Along similar lines, prayer can make you feel better — even if you’re not religious.

6) Get enough sleep

You can’t cheat yourself on sleep and not have it affect you. Being tired actually makes it harder to be happy. Lack of sleep = more likely to get sick. “Sleeping on it” does improve decision making. Lack of sleep can make you more likely to behave unethically. There is such a thing as beauty sleep.

7) Challenge yourself

Learning another language can keep your mind sharp. Music lessons increase intelligence. Challenging your beliefs strengthens your mind. Increasing willpower just takes a little effort each day and it’s more responsible for your success than IQ. Not getting an education or taking advantage of opportunities are two of the things people look back on their lives and regret the most.

8) Laugh

People who use humor to cope with stress have better immune systems, reduced risk of heart attack and stroke, experience less pain during dental work and live longer. Laughter should be like a daily vitamin. Just reminiscing about funny moments can improve your relationship. Humor has many benefits.

9) Touch someone

Touching can reduce stress, improve team performance, and help you be persuasive. Hugs make you happier. Sex may help prevent heart attacks andcancer, improve your immune system and extend your life.

10) Be optimistic

Optimism can make you healthierhappier and extend your life. The Army teaches it in order to increase mental toughness in soldiers. Being overconfidentimproves performance.
After reading this amazing article, i felt like i'm floating like a butterfly. With this simple article i have read, the quality of my life has just improved! And i have such thinking, apply what you have learnt, and you shall be an improve person.
Now, i know what should i do every day from now on, these 10 things!
What do you want to do in life? I feel like the world is full of possibilities, the only way to experience life to its fullest is to set no limits for what you want to achieve.  I BELIEVE, with the correct mindset, you can achieve what you want in life.
Life is just like a festival, and i truly enjoy every day. I felt like my day today is somewhat fulfilling.
